Regarding stakeholders corporations regard as important, more and more emphasis has been put on shareholders and investors these days. Accordingly, many corporations aim, at the corporate level, for management goals focused on market evaluation, and at the section level, for more thorough performance management. Reflecting this management structural change in governance, finance-related corporate goals are changing. Previously sales had been important, but at present, owing to changes in the market structure, an increase in sales does not necessarily bring a bigger profit. So they are shifting to profit-oriented goals, and further shift to capital-efficiency-oriented ones is expected from now on.
